Allan Robertson - Obituary
Allan rebuilt the Swinton Circle as a forum for true conservatives, addressed by many very prominent speakers including Members of Parliament. His journal Tough Talking from The Right was a breath of fresh air in the UK's increasingly dumbed down political atmosphere.

It is with deep regret that we note the death on Sunday 9th February 2020 of Allan Robertson, who suffered a massive stroke.

Allan was born on 23rd February 1966 outside Glasgow, and joined the Conservative Monday Club in December 1984 as he supported their long-standing policy of abolishing the Race Relations Acts. He took over as Chairman of the Club’s Scottish branch from Craig Strachan early the following year and produced three issues of the Scottish branch's Challenger magazine that year followed by a paper opposing the Anglo-Irish Agreement in May 1986.

At about this time the then Chairman of the national Club, David Storey, was attempting to govern the entire club by personal diktat, which included branches, meeting strong opposition from within the club. Allan objected to this attempt to remove the branch autonomy very strongly and subsequently resigned in July 1986.

He began to edit a new publication called Solidarity for the Union, and after moving to London joined the Swinton Circle. Following the retirement of Bee Carthew he was invited to become its Secretary in April 1992 and then Chairman. Due to his hard persistent and steady efforts Allan rebuilt the Swinton Circle as a forum for true conservatives, addressed by many very prominent speakers including Members of Parliament. His journal Tough Talking from The Right was a breath of fresh air in the UK's increasingly dumbed down political atmosphere.

Allan Robertson will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. We send our condolences to his family.
