The role of the established church in making and renewing the greatness of traditional Britain
'Pete will be speaking on identifying the core and the husk of what has made traditional Britain great. As our society moves forward into the future change is always an inevitable part of life. Many of these changes are good, most of us are happily embracing the smart phone revolution for example, yet many changes are the product of decay in the values and standards which have underpinned our society's successes for generations.
Pete will argue that part of this societal core that has made Britain great is the established church, and that the Protestant Reformational faith which the church is built on is therefore a crucial foundation for any understanding of traditional Britain, whether past or future. At the beating heart of the established church, and the establishment of Britain, is the English Bible: who's patron King James VI/I is a powerful symbol of the political union which makes up who we are as the United Kingdom.
Beneath the husk, at the very the core of our nation, is the Bible and the Protestant message it teaches. Wherever the tectonic plates of our society settle in these turbulent times the future of Britain depends on keeping the Bible at its core.'
