Richard Spencer outlines the talk he will make at the Traditional Britain Group Conference, 'The Future of the Nation State' - ‘Why We Need Europe.'

Richard Spencer is President and Director of The National Policy Institute and Washington Summit Publishers. He was formerly an Assistant Editor at ‘The American Conservative’ magazine and Executive Editor of ‘Taki's Magazine’ (Takimag). In 2010, he founded AlternativeRight.com and edited it for its first two years. Currently, he is Editor of ‘Radix Journal’, a biannual journal on culture and critical theory, and the host of Vanguard Radio, a weekly podcast.

Spencer has been a guest speaker at the Property and Freedom Society, The Traditional Britain Group, American Renaissance, and the HL Mencken Club.

Richard holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Chicago. He was a doctoral student at Duke University before dropping out to pursue a life of thought-crime.

Talk – ‘Why We Need Europe'

 

For some time now, the traditionalist Right in Britain and on the continent has been animated by opposition to the European Union. The most successful alternative British political party is defined by being anti-EU. And—let's admit it—we all enjoy raging against a bureaucratic superstate that seems, at once, impotent, annoying, clueless, and totalitarian. Unfortunately, our "anti-EU-ness"—our current negative identity—is blinding us to both reality as well as the best political path forward for Occidental civilization.
